I chose to mainly use skulls in my still lives. The objects don't really have much meaning; the photos are meant more for artistic purposes. The first photo with the stacked skulls was kind of just an idea, but the latter two are a hawk skull arranged on top of a hawk feather, so I thought that was a pretty cool concept.
At Home
In regards to the first still life, that was how I left my guitar after I finished playing it. The pick is arranged under the strings, and to the left of the pickguard. There is an even amount of light cast over the guitar, which crates shadows under the strings. The depth in the sound hole makes the picture much less flat-looking. The guitar means a lot to me. Ever since I started playing, I've felt a deeper love for and connection to the music I listen to.
